The 2010 Census questionnaire has stirred up some controversy with the multiple choice questions concerning race and ethnicity. Some object to the term negro, some want to see the term Latino. Are you white or black?
It would be much simpler and a tribute to our diversity if we were asked to respond to the question of color by using a sliding scale.
On a scale of 1 to 10 what is your color with 1 being very white,2 - white, 3 - mostly white, 4- swarthy, 5- yellow, 6- red, 7- brown, 8- mostly black, 9- black and 10- very black.
That should settle the color question. As for ethnicity, merely report all citizens of the United States as Americans!
